Has anyone had a long term GI doctor retire or relocate to another state?

My first GI doctor in Michigan that I found after being diagnosed in college in Alabama had moved to Florida. I have yet to find another doctor with the type of rapport and relationship we had. I was so sad when she first broke the news to me and felt lost for a while. I felt like she had broke up with me lol. I felt like she knew me and my history as a person and a patient. She knew my interests, hobbies, asked about my softball games I used to play, knew my family and more. This was the standard she set and everyone else after that have just been okay. Ive had some good doctors but the rapport and conversations just weren't the same. Has anyone else had a doctor they just vibed with?

I definitely have had doctors I felt really good with, and sadly some have either moved or passed. It can feel like such a gut punch when you feel like you have to start over. I've seen A LOT of GIs because I know what I'm looking for. It's like dating honestly, it took a while to find someone I liked.
I'd recommend making a few appointments with different people before you're sick, so you can establish a rapport before you need them.
Also shoot me a message I can send you some recommendations!
