Although patients and caregivers in the IBD community have become rather comfortable discussing bathroom issues that others would find too personal or disgusting to talk about, it does not mean we want to talk about it. What if we didn’t have to? What if our toilets could do the “talking” for us? Toi Labs CEO and Founder Vik Kashyap has a toilet seat that may not actually talk, but it certainly reports, in near real time, valuable information to help IBD patients, caregivers, and their doctors. By probing and scanning stool and urine, TrueLoo analyzes visual biomarkers unique for IBD and integrates that information with electronic medical records systems. This helps medical providers screen patients from the most private of places to understand better what is going on and provide daily wellness reports that aid in treatment. Perhaps with no more nasty phone pictures to send, we might be able to breathe a bit easier.

Would you be comfortable with a toilet like this?
